How to streamline your essential business operations - Chris Lorimer: South West Growth Service

Businesses usually leave their operations until last -  “we’ve always done it that way” being the cry when customers, staff or suppliers raise their eyebrows at outdated or inefficient procedures.  Complaints are accepted as “par for the course” and errors are plentiful. When the chances of customers rebuying from your business being over 25 times more when you are easy to do business with, streamlined operations are not a luxury - they are essential.  If your business is looking to scale up, improve the customer experience or put more on the bottom line - then operational resilience is crucial. Think smooth, streamlined and planned. This 1-hour workshop is a high energy and engaging opportunity for you to consider your own operations and assess whether your business is fit for purpose.  Based around a business simulation you will experience the highs and lows of making your operations lean. The workshop is led by operations expert Chris Lorimer of South West Growth Service.  Chris has led award-winning Operational Excellence programmes across Barclays. He has assisted organisations of all shapes and sizes implement lean operations across the world.

Understanding Google Analytics - a beginner’s guide - Ben Stirling, Made with Maturity

If you have your own website, then it's important to understand Google Analytics. However, this particularly useful tool isn’t something that everyone has knowledge on. With this in mind, Ben Stirling will be sharing a beginner’s guide to Google Analytics, all with the aim to explain more about what it is, and how to use it.

A donation of the ticket money goes to our chosen charity for 2018, Shekinah.

A donation from the proceeds of the Cream Tea Club goes to our charity of the year. In 2018 we have chosen to support Shekinah, a Devon based charity that provides opportunities for people affected by homelessness, drug and alcohol issues, offending behaviours or mental ill health.

Shekinah sees the person first, so they can work together to enable them to be the person they want to be.

They have a range of projects across a number of locations and provide a safe space for people to develop their skills, regain their self-worth and go on to live independent and fulfilling lives.

To find out more about Shekinah, their work or how to get involved, contact Soo Brizell or Laura Fraser-Crewes on 01752 203480, or visit the Shekinah website.
